Do you run an independent studio and find yourself wanting information specific to your business, rather than a university setting? Join MTEA Independent Studios! Our Facebook Group is a wonderful place to promote camaraderie among independent studio owners who want to exchange ideas about how to improve their education or business models. This is a lovely place to meet new people across the country doing similar work as you!

MTEA Acting is a newly formed group dedicated to bringing together community members who are passionate about teaching acting! Join us as we share resources, network with like-minded individuals, and plan for MTEA Acting Day as a part of the annual conference.

MTEA Music Directors is a new community group dedicated to bringing together MTEA members whose focus and interest is music direction.  Our members’ backgrounds include a variety of approaches and types of employment, including commercial theatre (Broadway, off-Broadway, Regional, tours), community theatre, and educational theatre. This group’s primary directive is to cultivate a supportive community dedicated to uplifting the profession of being a theatrical music director and sharing ideas about our ever-changing discipline.  All levels of proficiency are WELCOME, so do not be shy.  Join us if you’d like to meet other MDs to share best practices, ask questions, participate in programming, and be a part of the conversation!  This group is co-led by Sariva Goetz and Natalie McComas.

MTEA Dance is a group of musical theatre dance educators who support each other by sharing dance ideas, curriculum, and pedagogies that are working in the classroom. This group is a beneficial resource for dance educators to share thoughts and ideas about what is working/not working when training a musical theatre dancer today. In addition to meeting on Zoom throughout the year, MTEA also has a specified Dance Day at the annual MTEA Conference. Past dance keynote speakers have included Graciela Daniele, Sergio Trujillo, and Denis Jones. Dance Classes have been taught by The Fosse Verdon Legacy & current Broadway choreographers.
