MTEA’s NWCC Review Committee will review the information submitted via the questionnaire and all linked materials to ensure all necessary information has been provided and that all submitted materials align with the MTEA Mission and Vision Statement and Code of Ethics.

If the Review Committee identifies any missing information, you will be contacted via email to discuss submission of the missing material(s). Works will be included in the NWCC in MTEA’s sole discretion, and creators will be notified if their musical work has been approved for inclusion in the catalog.

The NWCC is live and available via the MTEA Members-Only Dashboard.  All approved new works will be added to the current NWCC and viewable by the entire MTEA membership.

Once approved, your musical theatre work will be listed in the NWCC for one year, after which time the NWCC Review Committee will be in contact with creators regarding any additional steps necessary for continued inclusion of their work(s) in the NWCC.

As a reminder, you may update your materials at any time in your external host folder (ie. Dropbox, Google Drive, SoundCloud) to reflect your latest draft, as long as all updates align with the MTEA Mission and Vision Statement and Code of Ethics.

If for some reason you would like to remove your musical from the catalog, please email us at [email protected], with your name and the title of your work and ask that it be removed from the NWCC.

Any member of MTEA can access the NWCC once they have logged into their personal MTEA dashboard. For more information on who might be an individual member or a member organization, Click Here.

MTEA members and member organizations renew their membership annually and, if their membership expires, they lose access to the dashboard and its resources after a period of time.

MTEA membership includes institutional members at various levels of education - secondary education, higher education, and professional affiliates - as well as individual members at private studios, conservatories, and other training programs across the globe.

You will receive a follow-up email to confirm that your musical theatre work will be listed in the NWCC.

MTEA does not host materials from your musical theatre work on its website. The NWCC will contain links to your materials only, which will remain hosted on your online hosting platform. MTEA recommends that you protect your materials within your online hosting platform (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc) by doing the following:

• Add a watermark to all written materials (script pages, breakdowns, synopsis, etc)

• Make sure your cloud drive settings are set to “view only” and do not allow those who view your materials the ability to download them. Make sure, however, that your settings allow anyone with the link you provide to view the materials. 
• Host your audio on a website like SoundCloud where samples can be streamed but not downloaded.

The NWCC Review Committee does not require any specific elements in your watermark, however one suggestion is “For NWCC Perusal Only.”

The NWCC Review Committee directs interested creators to the host folder link you have submitted. Creators are welcome to continue updating the documents in their external hosting folder (ie. Dropbox, Google Drive, SoundCloud) to reflect their latest drafts, as long as all updates align with the MTEA Mission and Vision Statement and Code of Ethics.

At this time, the NWCC cannot support video files. Please only include audio files. For step- by-step instructions on how to extract or convert your video file to audio please visit YouTube or Google. There are several available free services.
